Germany forward Kai Havertz believes the national team’s abundance of attacking options gives them a significant advantage ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Arsenal star described the competition for places within Julian Nagelsmann’s squad as a positive challenge, insisting the team’s depth will be crucial during the tournament in North America.

Germany boast an array of attacking talent, including Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala and Stuttgart striker Deniz Undav, who has been in impressive form for both club and country.

Despite the fierce competition for starting positions, Havertz said the players remain focused on collective success rather than individual ambitions.

“We have many options in attack,” Havertz said during Germany’s training camp.

“It is a very good problem to have. It is much better to have more good players than fewer in the team.”

The former Chelsea forward also highlighted the versatility within the squad, noting that several players are capable of operating in multiple positions.

“There is variety. We need all the players and many are capable of playing in different positions,” he said.

Asked whether he was concerned about competition from the in-form Undav, Havertz dismissed suggestions of rivalry.

“His statistics speak for themselves. In the national team he is an extremely important part. We as players know that.

“No one fears anyone. We have to function as a team together and everyone will be needed.”

Havertz remains a central figure for both club and country, with his adaptability and tactical intelligence continuing to make him one of Germany’s most valuable attacking assets heading into the World Cup.
