World Relays: Team Nigeria Secures 2 More World Championship Tickets

Team Nigeria have secured two more tickets to the World Championships in Beijing, China, at the final day of the 2026 World Athletics Relays in Botswana.

Nigeria have bagged qualifications for the Mixed 4×400m and the women’s 4×100m categories.

The Nigerian Mixed 4×400m quartet of Samson Nathaniel, Taiwo Kudoro, Chidi Okezie and Patience Okon-George put up a top performance, running a Season’s Best of 3:12.88 to finish second, earning automatic qualification.

Nigeria bagged another qualification when the quartet of Chigozie Rosemary, Obi Jennifer Chukwuka, Maria Thompson, Miracle Ezechukwu clocked a time of 42.94s to finish 2nd in the women’s 4×100m category.

The ladies had missed out automatic qualification on the first day of the relay after a botched baton exchange, but came back better only second to France in the repechage heat.
