Yakubu Gowon Varsity Hosts 12 Institutions For NUGA Preliminaries

The University of Abuja (now Yakubu Gowon University) is set to host 12 other institutions from across Nigeria for the Zone H preliminaries of the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA).

The University games is scheduled for Thursday, 25 to Tuesday, 30 September 2025.

Last week, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mathew Adamu, inspected facilities on campus in preparation for the event.

Participating universities include the Federal University of Technology, Minna; IBB University, Lapai; Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja; Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba; Federal University, Lokoja; and the African University of Science and Technology.

Others are Baze University; African Aviation and Aerospace University, Abuja; National University of Science and Technology, Abuja; Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna; Veritas University, Abuja; and Newgate University, Minna.

The preliminaries will feature football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, table tennis, scrabble, chess and other sports.
