Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has declared that late legendary football star, Rashidi Yekini, remains Nigeria’s best striker regardless of whether he breaks or surpasses his goal-scoring record.

Having scored 23 goals, the Galatasaray star is now 14 goals shy of the Super Eagles’ all-time goals record of the legendary Yekini, who netted 37.

However, reacting via his X handle, the Nigerian international stated that breaking or surpassing Yekini’s record won’t change the fact that the late striker is the greatest Nigeria has ever produced.

“No, no. I really don’t care about this. I just want to do my job and try to win games, score goals, provide a lot of assists for my team,” he said in a video uploaded to X.

“Then if I equal it, I equal it, if I surpass it, I surpass it, but that doesn’t take away Rashidi Yekini is the greatest striker in the Super Eagles have ever had.
