Yobe Assembly Confirms Aliyu As LG Auditor General

The Yobe State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Ibrahim Mallam Aliyu as the substantive local government auditor general.

The confirmation came after the House received the report of its committee on the nominee.

Presenting the report, the chairman, House committee on public accounts, Hon. Bulama Bukar, said after a critical examination of the curriculum vitae they screened him based on his good performance and working experience.

According to him, the nominee who is an active civil servant with experience in financial management and auditing met the requirement for appointment as local government auditor general.

He urged Aliyu to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him by the state government.

The House stressed the need for the executive arm of government to submit the names of two nominees for confirmation as deputy local government auditor general as provided for in the Audit Law.
