The House of Assembly passed the budget following the adoption of the report of its standing committee on finance and appropriation during a plenary session on Wednesday.

Presenting the committee’s report, the chairman, Hon  Buba Ibrahim Kalallawa explained that after extensive budget defense sessions with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), a slight adjustment were made to ensure a realistic budget estimate.

He said that a total of over N144 billion, representing 44 per cent, was allocated to recurrent expenditures. While over N176 billion, representing 55 percent, was allocated for capital expenditures.

Hon. Buba Kalallawa said the House has allocated 15.1% of the budget to the health sector to enable the executive arm of government to improve the healthcare services delivery in the state.

He called on the revenue-generating agencies to ensure proper remittance of revenue to enable the state government to finance the 2025 budget for more dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
