Yobe Assembly Will Make Hemoglobin Genotype Test Compulsory

Yobe State House of Assembly will hold a zonal public hearing on a Bill for a law to provide compulsory premarital hemoglobin genotype test and viral hepatitis in the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by the ad hoc committee chairman on the Bill, Kachalla Ajiya Maina and made available to LEADERSHIP in Damaturu.

According to the statement, the public hearing for Yobe North Senatorial zone would be held on Thursday, June 19, in Gashua at the Umar Suleiman College of Education by 11am.

On Monday, June 23, 2025 the committee will hold public hearing for Yobe South Senatorial zone in Potiskum at the College of Administration and Management Technology, Potiskum at 11am.

The committee will hold public hearing for the Yobe East Senatorial zone in Damaturu on Wednesday, June 25, at the Shehu Sule College of Nursing Sciences Damaturu by 11am.
