The Yobe State Government has commenced a three-day capacity-building workshop for members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to strengthen their role in democratic governance and reporting on developmental issues.
The workshop, fully sponsored by the government under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni through the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), is taking place at Tahir Guest Palace, Kano.
The workshop tagged, “The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Democratic Governance and Contemporary Issues in the Development of Yobe State,” was designed to enhance the capacity of journalists to effectively report governance, policies, and emerging development challenges.
Participants at the workshop comprise journalists drawn from the state-owned media, as well as correspondents of national dailies and private media organizations operating in Yobe.
