The organised labour in Yobe State on Friday signed an agreement with the Yobe State government on the implementation of the new national minimum wage of N70,000.

The agreement was signed in the presence of the permanent secretaries in the office of the Head of Civil Service.

The unions were represented at the event by Yobe State NLC chairman, Comrade Muktar Musa, that of Trade Union Congress (TUC) Bulama Musa, and the chairman, Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Baba Shehu Mustapha.

Speaking with journalists shortly after signing the agreement, the state NLC chairman disclosed that the N70,000 minimum wage affects state and local government workers as well as pensioners.
