The chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe State Council Comrade Rajab Ismail Mohammed, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointing Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede as the Acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
A statement signed by Mohammed and made available to journalists, stated that General Oluyede participated in several operations in the North East theatre.
He recalled that General Oluyede as the then Commander 27 Task Force Brigade Buni Gari and Commander Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, led operations to dismantle terrorist enclaves and logistic base and restored the much-needed peace in Ajigin, Damboa, Azur/Multe/Forfor, Talala, Bulabulin Mangozam and Abima.
Other places include Abulam, Keloruwa, Auno, Jakana, Benishek, Ngamdu, Kukarita, Damaturu, Gujba, Goniri, Kafa, Katarko, Mutai, Buni Gari, Buni Yadi, Kamuya, Babangida, Tarmuwa, Nguru, Gashiua, Geidam, Yusufari, Yunusari, and Kanama, just to mention a few.
Comrade Rajab Mohammed thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for making the right choice in appointing Major General Olufemi Oluyede as the acting chief of army staff.
