A national trustee of the union, Alhaji Kachalla Goni, said, “The union wishes to extend its appreciation to Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni for approving the increase of the monthly payment for gratuity from N100 million to N200million.”

He said, “I want to specially commend Governor Buni for this development, this will reduce the fear of the unknown after leaving service, and by implication, reduction in corruption.”

One of the retirees from the state service, Bulama Usman, said the gesture by Governor Buni would support the lives of retirees and the next of kin of deceased persons.

“This humane gesture gives us hope that the queue for payment of benefits would move fast, and as a retired civil servant, l am happy. I will soon be paid my benefits,” Usman said.
