The Yobe State Ministry of Wealth Creation, Empowerment, and Employment Generation has signed contracts with three reputable companies for the supply of empowerment tools aimed at boosting economic opportunities across the state.
The official signing ceremony, held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Damaturu, was presided over by the Commissioner, Hon Aji Yerima Bularafa (Mal Terab of Gujba).
The commissioner, while speaking on the initiative, described the contracts as another bold step by Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration to promote wealth creation, self-reliance, and economic growth among citizens especially youths and women.
Hon Bularafa used the forum and commended Governor Buni for his continued support and visionary leadership in empowering citizens, stressing that the Ministry will enforce transparency, accountability, and strict monitoring to ensure timely delivery of the contracts.
Also, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Inuwa Usman Yaroro, used the forum and called on the contractors to redouble their efforts and readiness in adhering to contractual agreement, assuring that the administration of Governor Buni, remained committed to ensuring sustainable empowerment and poverty reduction across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the contractors, the Managing Director of one of the companies handling the project, Marwez Limited restated their commitments to delivering quality tools within the agreed timeline.
He used the forum and commended the Yobe State government for the trust and support.
Base on the agreements signed, Marwez Limited will supply 100 units of Bajaj/Boxer motorcycles and 80 agro pickup tricycles to support youth cooperatives, small-scale entrepreneurs, and farmers across the 17 local government areas while Gnifarm And Agricultural Allied Products will provide 1,780 customized 10-litre cooking oil containers for women’s cooperatives and food processing businesses.
Also, Hakly Nigeria Limited will deliver 4,500 advanced charcoal wood stoves designed to encourage cleaner energy use and support food vendors.
