The League of Yoruba Youths for Advocacy and Good Governance has conferred the revered Yoruba title of Omoluabi of Yoruba Youths on Alhaji Abdusalam AbdulKarim Zaura, popularly known as AA Zaura.
The honour was bestowed during the 2025 Yoruba Youths Summit at the National Centre for Women Development, Abuja.
Seventeen prominent Yoruba kings were present at the ceremony, jointly endorsing the recognition described as historic.
Speaking during the presentation, the President General of the League, Ambassador Adediwura Adesina, said the Omoluabi title represents the pinnacle of Yoruba values and is reserved only for individuals who embody integrity, humility, courage, and service to humanity.
He described Zaura, a prominent figure from Northern Nigeria, as a national leader whose impact transcends ethnic lines.
According to him, Zaura’s empowerment programmes and philanthropic support have benefitted young people across all 36 states of the country.
Adesina said, “The values of Omoluabi are not exclusive to the Yoruba people. Anyone who consistently upholds honesty, respect, generosity, and selfless service deserves to be honoured. AA Zaura has shown exceptional compassion that reaches youths across the federation.”
The League also used the occasion to urge Yoruba communities residing in Kano State, alongside other ethnic groups in the state, to support Zaura’s ambition to become the next Governor of Kano State.
The event ended with royal blessings from the 17 attending kings and a renewed pledge by the League to continue promoting unity, responsible leadership, and good governance across the country.
