A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano State, Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso has accused former Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai of allegedly resorting to blackmail and lies against President Bola Tinubu in a desperate move to oust him in 2027.

Kwankwaso stated this in a statement issued to journalists in Kano on Tuesday, describing the method embarked upon by El-Rufai as obsolete.

“You cannot oust president Bola Tinubu from the presidency in 2027 by engaging in the same method you did to former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, using poverty, insecurity and economic devastation. Your blackmail is clear to all.

“It is clear to Nigerians that President Tinubu has achieved a lot by changing the narrative with many places becoming secured and prices of commodities becoming more and more affordable.

“The insecurity met on ground by President Tinubu when he came in is gradually being controlled, thanks to Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the security advisor to the president. But people like El-Rufai are clearly not happy with these achievements,” he stated.

Kwankwaso further challenged El-Rufai to produce evidence on his allegations that Tinubu’s administration was sponsoring banditry and other criminal acts across the country.

In the absence of such evidence, he told the former governor to desist from further comments, allowing government to continue the good things it was doing to Nigerians.

Kwankwaso further alleged that El-Rufai was only working to instigate the northern part of the country against the Tinubu administration.

He however, stated that northerners were not stupid, stressing that they can see what is being done by the administration from Birningwari to Sokoto and Borno.

He also described the coalition of politicians in Nigeria as a failure, maintaining that those subscribing to it have nothing better to give Nigerians.

“I wonder how a coalition with the likes of El-Rufai, Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso and the likes can succeed. It is already a failure. Who amongst them has performed as good as Tinubu when he had the chance?

“Is it Atiku that has failed as a vice president or El-Rufai who is facing charges from the Kaduna State Government or Kwankwaso who failed as a Minister of Defense and currently has no political party to rest on? ” he claimed.

The Kano APC chieftain also recalled the successes of the current administration in fighting and arresting commanders of bandits and terrorists in recent times.

He called for continued support by Nigerians to President’s administration, urging them to discard all forms of blackmail perpetrated by the opposition figures.
