Nigerian artiste Otriexx, born Efeodjuvwu Ernest Otutu, is poised to release his most emotionally charged single yet titled “Depression” on September 27, 2024..

This release comes during a tumultuous time for Otriexx, as he faces unexpected challenges in Hai Phong, Vietnam, where a devastating typhoon has caused widespread chaos. Schools and businesses have been shut down indefinitely, leaving the city in disarray.

Amidst these external storms, Otriexx finds himself confined to his home, reflecting the inner turmoil he explores in his music. He describes this period as one of the toughest he has encountered. “The city is in chaos, and everything around me has stopped. But I refuse to let this storm delay my music. Depression is about overcoming life’s darkest moments, and I’m determined to stick to the release date, no matter what,” he said.

During this shutdown, Otriexx has transformed his home studio into a sanctuary, using the forced isolation to pour his energy into perfecting Depression. The song is deeply personal, drawing from his struggles with mental health, which have been amplified by the recent events. He describes it as a raw and unfiltered expression of his battles, both external and internal.

For Otriexx, music serves as a vital tool for connection and healing. “This song is my story,” he shares. “It’s about the inner storms that can be even more overwhelming than the ones outside. Being confined at home has only fueled my determination to share this message with the world. Music is the one thing I still have control over, and I’m using it to connect with others who may be feeling lost or alone.”

The impending release of Depression stands as a beacon of resilience, not only for Otriexx but for anyone facing their own struggles. Inspired by artists like Erigga and Kodak Black, his music is noted for its storytelling and depth. As the release date approaches, Otriexx invites fans to follow his journey on social media, where he will share insights into the creation of Depression and his experiences weathering the storm in Vietnam.
