The scholarship opportunities were offered to them after their exploits at the recently concluded 2023 African championship in Ndola Zambia.

The latest development was revealed by a top official of the Nigeria Olympic Committee who didn’t want his name on print.

“Some of them have secured their visas already and will jet out to the United States soon.

“These represent the future of our athletics. In three or four years, the likes of Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume would have reached their peak. With the crop that came from Ndola, we have hope.

“We have to put the group together and do the right things. We can do well at the African Games and Olympics.”
