Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has assured of adequate security and welfare of the 2022 Batch ‘C’ Stream ‘1’ National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state.
Represented by the state commissioner for human services and social development, Hajiya Hafsat Mohammed Baba, the governor said he is committed to adequate protection of the corps members, and urged them to be diligent while discharging their duties as enshrined in the scheme’s act.
According to the governor, “We have put in place adequate measures to ensure your stay is worthwhile and memorable.”
He added that the industrial and economic potentials in Kaduna State provide favourable grounds for the corps members to tap into for their benefit and that of the state in general.
El-Rufai urged the corps members to outshine the contributions of their predecessors through hard work. He also appealed to all stakeholders and corps employers to render the corps members necessary support and encouragement by paying attention to their welfare throughout their service year.
Earlier, the NYSC coordinator in Kaduna, Mr Odoba Abel, said the orientation course commenced on November 2nd where 1,200 corps members out of 1,500 posted to the state reported for the orientation course.
He said at the orientation course, the corps members are expected to be fully involved in all the camp activities, such as paramilitary drills, entrepreneurship training, citizenship and leadership training, sports, social activities among other training, geared towards preparing them for the challenges ahead.
