The Youth Council of Nigeria (YCN) Nasarawa State chapter has hailed the member representing Awe/Doma/Keana federal constituency, Hon. Abubakar Nalaraba, on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Nasarawa South Senatorial District for the 2027 general elections.

Nalaraba, who is the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Loans, Aids and Debt Management, polled 48,452 votes to defeat the deputy governor Emmanuel Akabe, who secured 32,881 votes in last week’s APC senatorial primaries.

The youth group, in a statement signed by the state chairman, Musa Damka, said the lawmaker’s victory reflects the confidence reposed in him by APC members and the people of Nasarawa South.

The YCN said Nalaraba had built a reputation for effective representation, legislative competence and commitment to the development of both his constituency and Nasarawa State.

According to the statement, Nalaraba’s stewardship at the National Assembly, particularly as Chairman of the House Committee on Loans, Aids and Debt Management, has demonstrated his understanding of governance, public finance and economic management.

“Hon. Hassan Nalaraba has consistently shown leadership, dedication and loyalty to the ideals of the APC. His emergence as the party’s senatorial candidate is not only well deserved but also a victory for the people of Nasarawa South who desire experienced, visionary and people-oriented representation,” the statement read.

The youth group expressed optimism that the APC candidate would bring stronger legislative advocacy and broader representation to the Senate if elected in 2027.

The YCN also called on APC members, supporters, and stakeholders across the senatorial district to close ranks and work towards securing the party’s victory in the 16 January 2027 election.

“We are confident that Hon. Nalaraba possesses the experience, political maturity and leadership qualities required to effectively represent the interests of Nasarawa South at the Red Chamber.

“His track record speaks volumes, and we believe he will do even more as a senator,” the statement added.
