National President of the association, Olalekan Hammed, who applauded Governor Seyi Makinde over the appointment of the monarch, implored all other aspirants who lobbied but were unable to mount the throne to accept the outcome with sportsmanship spirit and give their unflinching loyalty and support to the new Oba.

“We implore all other contestants who lobbied but unable to mount the throne to accept the outcome with sportsmanship spirit and give their unflinching loyalty and support to the new Oba”, the youth leader said.

According to him the Alaafin’s stool is too significant to be left unoccupied.

“Anybody that is installed as the Alaafin of Oyo is no doubt a face of Yoruba race and its cultural heritage, and that is why competency matters when selecting who becomes the Alaafin of Oyo.

“We believe that Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade has what it takes in terms of promotion of culture, contributing positively to the development, peace and unity of Oyo town, Yorubaland and Nigeria at large”, he added.
