According to the them, the Igala-born trained architect has all it takes in terms of passion, zeal and experience to move the state from its present state of hopelessness to greatness.

This is contained in a statement issued on behalf of the group by its national coordinator, Isah Onoja, in Lokoja, the state capital, on Thursday.

In the statement made available to journalists, Onoja stated that Ojotu is qualified to be the next governor of Kogi based on certain parameters.

“We, members of the Kogi Youths for Change, are going with our big brother and mentor, Architect Ali Ojotu, for the governorship of the state. Amongst all others, he has all it takes to lead our state to greatness.

“We have observed him as well as some others closely and we are of the belief that the state will do well under his watch,” the statement reads.

Onoja praised the former top civil servant for his numerous philanthropic efforts across Igala land, especially towards the youths, women, widow and all other vulnerable groups in the state.

He also lauded Ojotu’s efforts in the past to assist youths across Igala land to get the needed employment in government agencies.

“To us, if someone has been doing laudable things like this for several years without looking at the benefits, it is incumbent on us, the beneficiaries, to reward him.

“Apart from that, there is no gainsaying that the people of Kogi State need his wide and varied experience in the civil service for the development of the state,” he concluded.

The movement promised to set up a crowd-funding account to purchase New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) nomination and intent forms for the former FCDA director
