Niger Delta Youth for Positive Change (NDYPC) has commended President Bola Tinubu and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for the successful hosting of the recent Niger Delta Stakeholders Summit.

The group also commended the coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dennis Otuaro, for his commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region.

In a statement issued to newsmen yesterday in Abuja, the group’s national coordinator, Elliot Yibakeni Yibalua, said, “The summit was a resounding success, and we applaud President Tinubu’s commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region. The event brought together various stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the region, and we are encouraged by the outcomes.”

The group praised the NDDC managing director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, for his collaborative approach to regional development and vision in organising the summit, and described the summit as a game-changer for the region.

He further commended Otuaro’s dedication to the amnesty programme, saying, “His commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region is quite commendable, and we appreciate his efforts in ensuring brotherly love, mutual understanding and respect for the people.

“We agree with his stance that stakeholders’ engagement is critical to the design of regional growth, prosperity, and stability, ensuring peace will always come first.”

The group called on the president to support ongoing efforts to make the Niger Delta safe for investors again as, “a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to the region’s development.”

The group called on all stakeholders to work together to ensure the successful implementation of the summit’s resolutions, saying, “We must work together to ensure that the summit outcomes are not left on the shelves but are translated into tangible development projects that will benefit our people.”
