The Eze-elect of Nsirimo Amaise Autonomous Community of Abia State, Dr Charles Chukwuemeka Amanze, has said Nigerian youths need to set daily goals for themselves to succeed in life.
The Eze-elect stated this in an address to the youths and people of the community in Umuahia South local government area during a one-day youth capacity building seminar.organised by Amanze, through his pet project, Eze Amadioha Nsirimo Foundation.
The seminar was themed, “Unlocking Human Potential: Strategies for Personal Growth and Self-improvement.”
He said the training was in line with the agenda of the governor, Dr Alex Otti “to make youths agents of development”, as “imbibing what they would learn would help them to be successful in life and to make positive contributions to society.”
“This is part of my contributions to human capital development and to assist youths in the community, area and the state in general to channel their energies to positive engagements and productive ventures,” he said.
He argued that to achieve personal development and self-improvement, the youths need to set daily goals which would help them to measure their successes and failures in terms of meeting their targets.
“Personal growth is a life-long journey. By incorporating goal-setting, emotional intelligence, mindfulness and positive habits, we unlock our potentials.
“Let’s embark on this transformative journey together, cultivating self-awareness, resilience and fulfillment.
“By making our objectives Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART), we create a roadmap for success. Setting SMART goals is the foundation of personal growth.
“When you set the SMART goals, you have to break down large goals into smaller, manageable tasks, and regularly review and adjust them to stay on track,” he said.
He urged the wealthy in the society to invest in building of capacity of youths to enable them to give their best to mankind, describing well-trained youths as invaluable assets.
In a vote of thanks, the wife of the Eze-elect, Roseline Ihuoma Amanze, thanked all who attended the training, saying “it was a tip of the iceberg of the good packages my husband has for us all.”
