Aggrieved youths from Etinan Federal Constituency comprising – Etinan, Nsit Ibom and Nsit Ubium local government areas of Akwa Ibom State have staged a protest to draw Governor Umo Eno’s attention to alleged unfulfilled pre-election promises.

The protest leaders – Comrades Mfon Okon (Nsit Ubium); Gabriel Ufot (Etinan) and Oduduidem Akang (Nsit Ibom), said the protest became necessary to draw government’s attention to sundry issues of development deficits, youth empowerment and other socio-economic challenges facing the federal constituency.

They recalled that having promised to make government presence felt in the zone during his pre- election campaigns, they were yet to see the positive impact of good governance within the three LGAs.

LEADERSHIP learnt that it took the intervention of the chairman of Etinan LGA, Hon. Uko Umoh, to stop the protest after a dialogue with the protest leaders in the presence of the DPO of Etinan, CSP Mfon Emem, the director of DSS in the LGA, and other stakeholders.
