An author, clergyman and the chief executive officer of Secrets of Success Enterprise, Dr Jim-Oscar Segun Osemeka, has charged Nigerian youths to harness the power of digital tools for self-reliance and personal development.
Osemeka stressed the importance of leveraging readily accessible resources such as the Internet and social media to build expertise and foster independence rather than solely relying on governmental support.
He spoke at a recent seminar commemorating Nigeria’s Independence Day at the Administration Auditorium, Gwarimpa. He cited successful content creators like Tiktok Pellar, who have used these platforms to build their brands and reach broader audiences.
Osemeka pointed out that young individuals should not limit their engagement with digital platforms to mere entertainment. Instead, he encouraged them to create intellectual and entertaining content that not only showcases their talents but also provides value to their audience.
By following in the footsteps of such innovators, he stated that Nigerian youths can find ways to monetise their skills and passions, ultimately leading to greater self-sufficiency and economic empowerment.
“I keep teaching in ‘The Secret’ the sacrosanctity of exploring the mind rather than waiting for the government to serve success on your table à la carte.
“The power of the mind allows you to explore digital skills and become great rather than relying on the government. Youths should learn to speak greatness into their lives before going to bed and take conscious strategic steps in achieving them,” he stated.
