The Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) has named the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Nguru, as the best-performing health facility in the state.
The executive secretary of YSCHMA, Dr Babagana Tijjani, made this known while signing a service level agreement between the agency and the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru.
He described FMC Nguru as one of the best health facilities in the state compared to over 200 others, adding that the agency has never recorded challenges from the centre’s enrollees despite the low prices of drugs and services offered.
In his address, the executive secretary stated that the essence of the visit was to sensitise and present the recently reviewed tariff and capitation by stakeholders as part of efforts to improve healthcare services in the state.
In his response, the head of clinical services and training, Dr Ukhasha Ibrahim, who represented the medical director, Professor Hadiza Abdullahi Usman, expressed the delight of management at the important visit by the entire agency leadership.
He pointed out that the centre is undoubtedly home to YSCHMA because it has the highest number of enrollees and secondary referrals compared to other HMOs that offer services there.
He added that a cordial relationship exists between the two institutions, which was attributed to the quality of fee-for-service, capitation and prompt payment to the centre.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the revised service, which showed an upward review cutting all the services by Dr Isa Adamu.
The head of clinical services and training, Dr Ukhasha Ibrahim, signed on behalf of the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, while Dr Babagana Tijjani signed for YSCHMA.
