Zamfara: 250 Elderly Citizens Get First Lady’s Support

No fewer than 250 elderly citizens have benefitted from  the third edition of the Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme (RHIESS) in Zamfara State.

The program held at the state government House, Gusau, was coordinated by the Zamfara State first lady, Hajiya Hurriya Dauda Lawal.

The first lady said the Renewed Hope Initiative celebrates senior citizens every December in recognition of their invaluable contributions to nation-building adding that the tradition has been done every year since 25th 2023 when the current administration came on board.

She said the initiative was to show gratitude and care for the senior citizens who have laboured to build an enduring nation that the present generation is proud of.

Hajiya Hurriya Dauda Lawal who represented the Nation first lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu said, the scheme supported Two Hundred and Fifty (250) vulnerable elderly citizens aged 65 and above in each of the 36 states of the Federation.

The beneficiaries were gifted Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) each.
