The Zamfara State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Dauda Lawal for developmental achievements recorded across socio-economic sectors of the state within his two years in office.
The House, during plenary session yesterday, unanimously seconded the motion moved by its majority leader, Hon Bello Muhammad Mazawaje, which commended the successes recorded within two years of the governor’s administration.
According to the lawmakers, Lawal restored the lost glory of the state in all the socio-economic sectors.
While moving the motion, Mazawaje said for the first time in the history of Zamfara Gusau, the state capital, is experiencing rapid development.
He said anybody who relocated from Gusau in the last four years would not recognise most of its environs because of the transformation.
Citing the ongoing construction of the International airport, he said critics and the opposition parties can acknowledge the governor’s giant strides.
Some of the legislators who supported the motion including the deputy speaker, Hon Adamu Aliyu (representing Gummi II), Hon Yakubu Almajir (Bungudu East), Hon Ibrahim Garba Liman (Gusau II), Hon Rilwanu Marafa (Anka), among others.
The lawmakers also applauded the governor for the renovating and upgrading of General Hospitals and making healthcare more accessible and affordable. They also commended him for renovations and upgrade of Secondary and other tertiary Institutions across the state.
The lawmakers said security improved in the state compared to what he inherited from the previous administrations. He noted that he recently launched and distributed 140 operational vehicles to security agencies to fight banditry and other forms of crimes in the state.
The House further noted that many youths in Zamfara are engaged in formal activities, creating employment opportunities and contributing to poverty reduction.
The lawmakers urged people of the state to keep praying and supporting the Lawal-led administration in its quest to deliver the dividends of democracy to all irrespective of political party differences.
