Zamfara First Lady Seeks Support For Female Pilgrims

First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has urged support for women’s welfare as they transit to the Holy Land.

He urged all the pilgrims to remain worthy ambassadors of the state and Nigeria.

A statement signed by Rabi Yusuf, press secretary, Office of the First Lady, Zamfara State Government House, Gusau, said prior to the send-off, the governor’s wife held a strategic meeting with the chairman of Zamfara State Hajj Commission, Alhaji Musa Mallaha and the commission’s female volunteer group.

“Demonstrating her commitment to the welfare of female pilgrims, the first lady distributed hijabs to the women participating in this year’s exercise, ensuring they were well-supported for the spiritual journey.

“The meeting focused on streamlining logistics to ensure maximum comfort and proper coordination for the pilgrims, with emphasis on women.

The discussions centered on transportation, welfare and critical operational guidelines for a seamless and hitch-free exercise.

She exhorted the pilgrims to uphold the values of patience, discipline, unity and exemplary conduct throughout their stay. She further encouraged them to use the sacred period to pray fervently for peace, stability and sustained progress in Zamfara State.

In his remarks, Mallaha expressed gratitude to the first lady for her sustained support and devotion to the welfare of the state’s pilgrims.
