Zamfara Gov-elect Visits Scene Of Fire Incident, Promises Assistance To Victims

The Zamfara State governor-elect, Dauda Lawal, has expressed sadness over the fire outbreak that razed business centres at the popular cellphone market located at Bebeji Plaza in Gusau, the state capital city.

The unfortunate incident occurred Monday night, destroying properties worth millions of Naira.

Addressing the market leadership and some of the affected victims during a visit to the scene on Tuesday, Lawal extended his sympathy to the cellphone vendors and property owners who suffered unquantifiable losses to the fire outbreak.

In a press release issued by the office of the Governor-elect signed by Sulaiman Bala Idris, Lawal prayed to God to avert any such unfortunate occurrence in the future even as he promised possible assistance to the victims.

“We are on this visit to empathise and commiserate with all the victims directly impacted by the fire disaster which occurred last night.

“I am saddened that the outbreak has razed shops and destroyed properties worth millions of Naira.

“The damage caused by this outbreak was too massive. I have assessed the scene and will study the possible ways of assisting the victims.

“The destruction recorded was unprecedented. I pray that Allah (SWT) will give the victims the fortitude to bear their loss. I also pray to Allah to avert any such disastrous occurrence,” Idris quoted the Governor-elect as saying.
