Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has expressed condolences over the passing of the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, recently at the age of 98.
During a condolence visit to Bauchi yesterday Governor Dauda said he considered it important to personally convey his sympathies to the government and people of Bauchi, despite having earlier sent an official delegation while he was away in Morocco on an assignment.
He prayed for the late scholar, asking Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
Receiving the condolences on behalf of the late Sheikh, his eldest son, Khalifa Ibrahim Dahiru Bauchi, thanked the governor for the visit. He noted that the large turnout of mourners was a testament to the peace and goodwill their father enjoyed among the people during his lifetime.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, also commended his Zamfara counterpart, describing the visit as a significant display of friendship, solidarity, and exemplary leadership.
Governor Mohammed lauded Governor Dauda’s record of service and commitment to governance in Northern Nigeria.
Governor Mohammed added that Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi had been a unifying figure, whose teachings and spiritual guidance built bridges across communities, particularly between Bauchi and Zamfara.
The Bauchi governor further expressed appreciation for the gesture of empathy and brotherhood, describing the visit as a symbol of unity and mutual respect between the two states.
