The Zamfara State Government said the payment of N70,000 new minimum wage to civil servants in the state will commence in March, 2025.

This came as the state government and the organised labour have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the N70, 000 new minimum wage.

According to the state government, payment of the new national minimum wage in March, 2025 will commence after the completion of worker’s verification exercise.

Representatives of the labour unions in the state also enjoined workers to shun the planned strike as directed by the national body of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

Zamfara is one of the 12 states listed by the NLC to embark on industrial action following the inability of the state governments to implement the new national minimum wage recently approved by the federal government.
