Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in Bauchi State has accused the organisers of Sayawa 2022 annual cultural festival tagged, “Limp Zaar” in Tafawa Balewa town of unfair treatment.

The party’s publicity secretary, Comrade Isma’il Ibrahim Waziri who spoke with journalists said the ZLP which is one of the four strongest political parties in Bauchi State was not even invited to the annual event, while some parties were not only given recognition, but some of their personnel were speakers at the festival.

Waziri alleged that during the event some undesirable youths destroyed some billboards and other structures of the party. He condemned in strong terms the act of lawlessness perpetrated against officers and candidates of the party during the Sayawa annual event.

Waziri said, “In what look like an orchestrated plan by some hired hoodlums, anything that depicts the Zenith Labour Party in Tafawa Balewa local government area, the acclaimed home of the Sayawas were Saturday completely destroyed for reasons best known to the organisers of the dastardly act”.

According to him, some members of the ZLP including its candidates for the forthcoming elections, some of whom are Sayawa by tribe domiciled in Tafawa Balewa LGA were turned back from the venue.

Waziri attributed the segregation of members of the party by organisers of the Limp Zaar to their popularity not only in Tafawa Balewa local government area, but also across the state, describing the ZLP as the party of youths who are ready to take over the mantle of leadership of the country.
