The national publicity secretary of ZLP, Khalid Arewa, said the party has not engaged in any discussions with individuals or groups regarding the 2027 presidential race.

Arewa, in a statement said, “The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) wishes to address a misleading publication circulating on various social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), which falsely claims that our party has offered a free ticket to Peter Obi for the 2027 Presidential election.”

The party further discredited the source of the misinformation, stating that the social media account responsible for the claim is not affiliated with ZLP in any way.

“We categorically deny this claim in its entirety. It does not reflect the views, decisions, or official position of the Zenith Labour Party.

“Our leadership and decision-making processes are guided by our constitution, principles, and values. We have no such arrangement with anyone, nor do we entertain baseless speculations,” the statement added.

The ZLP reiterated that it has yet to begin any discussions regarding the 2027 elections, emphasising that the false report is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.

“We warn those attempting to exploit ZLP’s credibility for personal gain to desist immediately. Otherwise, we will identify and report them to security agencies,” Arewa stated.

He reaffirmed that the ZLP remained a responsible and law-abiding political party committed to democracy, good governance, and the well-being of Nigerians.

The party urged the public to disregard the misinformation and rely solely on official statements issued through its authorized communication channels.
