Zubairu Relishes 100th NPFL Game

El-Kanemi Warriors technical adviser Aliyu Zubairu has reflected on his journey in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

Zubairu took charge of his 100th NPFL game against Kano Pillars on Wednesday.

The young tactician, who began his coaching career with Wikki Tourists in the 2018-19 season, described his journey as a mix of challenges and successes.

“Being a beginner, all the doubting Thomases thought that starting with a team like Wikki Tourists was too big a step. But before then, I had studied a lot of coaches, so if I couldn’t handle a team myself, there would be no reason for me to be in coaching at all. But I proved many people wrong—I was able to sustain the team,” Zubairu told El-Kanemi Warriors media.

“It’s very important to me, and I must say my journey has also been largely successful, considering all the challenges.”Zubairu previously managed Gombe United.
