Further reacting over the incident while fielding questions from journalists, he described the incidents that occurred when the Boko Haram insurgency was exiting the state as a sad one and commiserated with the victims of the attacks, family members and prayed for the repose of soul of those that died during the attacks.

“The incident is an act of sabotage. We are looking forward on how to resettle people to their communities. Some don’t like the resettlement agenda. I plead with the people of Gwoza to remain calm and be law-abiding, and to partner with the state and federal governments to ensure that internally displaced persons ( IDPs ) are returned to their communities,” he said.

On the food crisis facing the nation, Governor Zulum noted that it is temporary challenge that would soon be addressed by the government, saying that from now till the end of his administration, the government would concentrate on farming and ensure that there is food production and food sustainability in the state.

On his rating of the 2024 Hajj to Saudi Arabia which he was part of the contingents, Zulum said as far as he was concerned there is improvement in terms of Hajj operations this year than the previous years.

“I think this is the best Hajj operation in the recent times. Pilgrims from Borno State were airliflted from the state to holy land as at when due. Their accommodation was good. Their transport to Mecca was very good,” he added.

Zulum commended the Federal Government, 2024 Hajj committee and the state’s team for doing well.
