‘Inside Nollywood’ Champions Govt Support For Creative Economy

In a bid to boost the creative economy, Inside Nollywood, has articulated its commitment to paving the way for the federal government to foster and advance a vibrant creative economy.

Speaking during a press conference in Abuja, the Ambassador for the initiative and veteran Nollywood actor, Nonso Diobi, said with Nigeria’s creative sector contributing significantly to the country’s GDP, it is imperative to harness its full potential.

Diobi emphasised the collective vision for a future marked by inclusivity, underscoring the pivotal role of content in driving global innovation.

He highlighted the need for governmental engagement to grasp the industry’s essence and leverage the ongoing festival as a conduit for providing essential infrastructure crucial for the sector’s expansion.

The festival, Diobi asserted, epitomizes the celebration of authentic expression and serves as a platform to showcase Nigerian narratives to the world, fostering international partnerships and propelling industry growth.

Founder, Inside Nollywood, Muoma Obina commemorated a decade of championing originality, elevating content quality, and reshaping Nollywood’s landscape across Africa. The event not only celebrates cinematic achievements but also attracts investors keen on supporting Nollywood projects.

The president of the Thanos Charity Foundation, Ugochukwu Ifeanyi lauded Nigerian actors for their global impact and underscored their partnership with Inside Nollywood in empowering girls.

He emphasised the need for a conducive environment to attract governmental investment, aligning with the foundation’s mission of fostering a thriving creative economy.

With unwavering enthusiasm, stakeholders anticipate the festival’s role in catalyzing Nigeria’s creative economy onto the global stage.

Producer,  Ajisola-Borokinni ,  expressed gratitude, stating that the film marks a significant achievement in her career, with promising productions in the pipeline, adding that, “It is an encompassing work full of suspense, marriage, and societal issues. It is a movie everyone will relate to as a parent, lady, man, student, and child. It is a movie that everyone would love. I am convinced that this production has a lot of great lessons that would help anyone that comes across it.”
