The Authority said one person lost his life in the accident, which it apparently blamed on over-speeding.

LASTMA, in a post on its verified X handle (formerly Twitter), noted that the tragedy involved a Mini Truck with the registration number MUS 489 XS and a Toyota Camry car with registration number KRD 470 JD.

The agency wrote, “Personnel of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on the ground managing the situation and controlling traffic under the rain.

“SAY NO TO OVER-SPEEDING ON THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE.”
