Enraged by the confrontation, the fleeing bandits moved toward the outskirts of the town towards Tangaza where they set fire to a water borehole which spread to the nearby cemetery.

The heavily armed assailants, who arrived on motorcycles, were believed to have come from the Bararrahe axis in Tangaza local government area.

The police have not responded to our correspondent’s enquiry on the incident as at the time of filing this report .
