1,000 APC Members Defect To PDP In Lagos

About 1,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos MainlandĀ  local government area of Lagos State have dumped the party, for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The defectors who were led byĀ  Nurudeen Dauda cited the lack of internal democracy in the ruling party,lack of transparencyĀ  in the state APC as part of the reasons for dumping the party.

The people that decamped, who are from Ward J, Iwaya Area of the LGA, were received into the party at Lagos Mainland Secretariat of the party in Alagomeji,Yaba by Dr. Adetokunboh Pearse and the PDP chairman in the local government Mr. Malomo Adelabi

Daudu, who wasĀ  aide to Hon. Olanrewaju Oshun, member representing Lagos Mainland II in the state Assembly, said more APC loyalists would soon join the PDP in batches.

While thankingĀ Ā  leaders of the opposition party in the state for accepting them into their fold, he alleged that so many ambitions and aspirations had beenĀ  buried inĀ  the APC because of lack of internal democracy.

While welcoming those that decamped to the PDP in the state, Dr.Ā  Pearse, who is a member of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, and director grass root mobilization assured them of fair treatment and level playing ground in the PDP and they will be given opportunity to pursueĀ  their aspirations.

Dr Pearse, who prayed that the defectors should achieve their aspirations, said that the PDP was the most democratic, most effective and productiveĀ  party in the country.

He said, ā€œYou are welcome. With your entry we are sure that PDP will take over Lagos State.
