Habiu Sani Sara and one other person, Habu Karami Jahun, were arraigned  before  magistrate court sitting in Dutse presided over by magistrate Auwal Balago on a three-count charge including defamation of character, attempt to incite public disturbance and disorder.

The duo pleaded not guilty while the magistrate ordered that the accused be detained in a correctional facility till  May 8 for the hearing.

Habib Sara and one Alhaji Habu Karami Jahun were arrested by the police after a live program on a Kano based radio station.

The former APC chairman and Karami Jahun were alleged to have accused the state governor of last minute indiscriminate award of contracts that could be a huge burden to his successor.

The duo also accused the governor of awarding shoddy contracts including  over 200 cars that were fully paid for without seeing any on ground.

In the program they also accused Badaru of attempting to remain in power beyond May 29, 2023 by imposing cabinet members and other key appointments on incoming government.

The state police command confirmed that the two accused persons were invited and investigated by the police after receiving a written complaint from one Malam Habibi Ringim, a special adviser to the governor on media content.

The APC Gwaram local government chapter in the state  has expelled Alhaji Habibi Sani Sara and Tukur Fagam on alleged anti  party activities and other actions capable of destabilising the party in the state.

The announcement was signed and made available to newsmen by the local government party chairman, Alhaji Ayuba Umar Nasara, who said the decision was taken by the party caucus to serve as deterrent to others.
