Vice chancellor, Renaissance University, Ugbawka, Enugu State, Professor Thaddeus Eze has urged students of the institution to shun all forms of social vices that would derail them from their academic ambition in the institution.
Eze gave the warning during the 16th matriculation ceremony of the institution marking the official induction of over 250 first-year students into the institution.
He maintained that the school will not hesitate to expell any student involved in cult activities, examination malpractices, prostitution, indiscriminate, smoking of hard drugs and inducing or seducing lectures to pass their exams.
The vice chancellor emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering a conducive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, research, and innovation.
Eze stated that the university is renowned for its exceptional programs and fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other regulatory bodies, adding that they offer a diverse range of disciplines across its faculties.
Delivering a lecture, Prof Festus Ukwueze of the Faculty of Law, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus acknowledged the remarkable achievements of the university in research and academic programs across its four colleges and departments.
He encouraged the matriculating students to embrace good conduct and strive for academic success during their stay at the university.
In recognition of his administration’s ICT compliance and remarkable milestones, Prof Eze was presented with a meritorious award by Eagle Tech Nigeria Limited and underscored the university’s commitment to leveraging technology in enhancing education and administrative processes.
