About 1,343 Batch A stream 1 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to Katsina State for the one-year national service, have received the oath of allegiance.
The Katsina State chief judge, Justice Abubakar Musa Danladi, administered the oath of allegiance to the corps members and thereafter allowed them to sign the oath document.
Declaring the three-week orientation open, Governor Umaru Dikko Radda, who was represented by the deputy governor, Faruk Lawal Jobe, congratulated the corps members and urged them to take the service seriously and shun cultism and other anti-social behaviours.
Earlier, the state coordinator of NYSC, Aisha Muhammad, charged the corps members to be disciplined, obey all rules and be focused, as they embark on the 21-day orientation, stressing that participating actively in the programme will prepare them for the challenges ahead in the service year.
She charged the corps members to acquire skills and be productive to overcome the challenge of unemployment in the country.
