16 Teams For Southern Kaduna Peace, Unity Football Tourney

As part of measures towards fostering peace and unity among the youths in southern Kaduna, a senatorial candidate on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) for Kaduna South Senatorial District for the 2023 general elections, Honourable Bulus Audu, organising a ‘Peace and Unity Football Tournament for youths from the eight local government areas of the zone with 16 teams participating.

Speaking during the flag off of the tournament at Ngarshang LGEA Primary School football field in Kwoi, Jaba local government Area of Kaduna State over the weekend, the sponsor, Hon. Audu promised to prioritise peace, youths and women development if given the opportunity to represent Kaduna South Senatorial District in the 10th Senate.

This is even as he stressed that women and youths in the society are population that needs special attention, assuring that if elected a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he will do his best to better their life.
According to him no fewer than 16 teams would compete for the trophy, with each local government presenting two teams respectively. He said the football tournament is also aimed at actualising sustainable and peaceful coexistence among the youths and the good people of southern Kaduna.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, former Nigerian international Tijjani Babangida commended the APC Senatorial candidate for organising the tournament, stressing that it was an opportunity for the young ones to showcase their potentials that can take them to greater heights.

Babangida said he will try his best to assist some of the participants move forward in their football careers while appealing to the candidate to make the event an annual one, in addition to inviting more stakeholders to come over and scout for talented young footballers among the participants as the tournament progresses.
