At least three clubs are in the race to sign Kelechi Iheanacho this summer. Iheanacho is now a free agent after his contract with Sevilla was terminated on transfer deadline day.

Celtic are currently in talks with the Super Eagles forward and have offered him a two-year deal. Two clubs in Turkey are also keen on Iheanacho, although personal terms have proven to be a hurdle. Nigerian broadcast journalist Onyebuchi Onokala, also known as Buchi Laba, wrote on X: “100% confirmed: Celtic were negotiating with Sevilla for Kelechi Iheanacho before his contract was mutually terminated, and now they have sent him a two-year contract as a free agent! They want an answer ASAP!

“Iheanacho had a good offer from two Turkish clubs, but personal terms could not be agreed. He’s not in a rush to make a decision.”
