Kaduna State government has said the 17-kilometre Kayarda-Dan Alhaji Road in Lere local government area is 95 per cent complete.
The remaining section is expected to be delivered within one week.
The managing director (MD) of Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), Dr Abdullahi Baba Ahmad, stated this during an inspection of ongoing road projects in Lere and Kubau councils.
Baba Ahmad said the outstanding 1.5-kilometre section would be completed within the next week, noting that the project was being handled by PW Nigeria Limited.
He said the road linked several farming communities to the Kano road, adding that its completion would ease transportation and facilitate the movement of agricultural produce.
He explained that the projects were part of the state government’s efforts to improve connectivity, boost economic activities and ease the movement of people and goods across the state.
At Pambegua, the KADRA managing director also inspected the ongoing construction of township roads, where he said the hydraulic structures had been completed, while drainage works were 90 per cent complete.
He added that the Pambegua and Zuntu township roads, including the Zuntu Palace road in Kubau Local Government Area, were expected to be completed soon.
Baba Ahmad said the agency was satisfied with the quality of the drainage structures and the results of the sub-base density tests.
The Chairman of Lere Local Government Area, Alhaji Jafaru Ahmad Saminaka, commended the state government for the project, describing it as a major intervention for communities along the route.
The Market Head of Kwanar Zogole, Nura Usman, also commended the government, saying the project would improve accessibility and boost economic activities in the community.
Usman expressed satisfaction with the quality of work and the installation of solar lights, which he said fulfilled a promise made to residents.
Similarly, the Chief of Pambegua, Abdullahi Idris, appreciated the state government for the road construction, saying it would benefit residents and traders in the area.
