2 Feared Drowned In Lagos Lagoon

At least two passengers were yesterday feared drowned as an 18-seater bus conveying them had an accident on Third Mainland Bridge, thereby throwing them into the Lagos Lagoon.

The accident, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), involved a LT 18-seater bus with registration number FKJ 872 YA.

It was gathered that it occurred by the Adeniyi Adele axis inward Lagos Island.

NEMA zonal coordinator, South-West Lagos, Ibrahim Farinloye, who confirmed the accident, said the vehicle which was on a high speed, swerved off the road and hit the bridge rails and caused the two passengers to fling off into the lagoon.

Meanwhile, the marine police have begun a search for the victims, an adult male and female.
“The injured passengers were rushed to the hospital,” he said.
