The police public relations officer (PPRO) at Bauchi Command, CSP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed this to journalists in Bauchi yesterday.

He further explained that one Shafi’u Sule, a resident of Katsinawa Tabulawa of Ningi local government, was also arrested for allegedly raping a teenage girl.

Wakil said Sule’s victim reportedly went missing before she was later found to be in the custody of her victim.

He said, “Investigation into the case revealed that the suspect threatened to cut off the victim’s tongue and burn her alive if she dared to shout for help.

“During interrogation, the suspect willingly corroborated the victim’s statement; the commissioner of police directed that the case be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Bauchi for further investigation.”
