The 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season will kick off on Saturday, September 30.

The NPFL board made the announcement in an official communication to all the participating clubs.

The kick off of the new season has been postponed twice.

The league body also announced that all 20 participating clubs will receive N10m each as a take off grant.

Eight matches will be played in the opening week of the campaign as two matches involving Bendel Insurance and Rivers United have been postponed due to their continental engagement this weekend.

Rivers United will entertain Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso in the second leg of their second round at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday, while Bendel Insurance will travel to Morocco for their second-leg clash against former champions, RS Berkane.
