The ambassador who spoke during a press briefing detailing the outcome of President Muhammadu Buhari’s official visit to South Korea from October 25 to 27, said the 2023 general election is crucial not just to Nigeria but Africa and the world.

As the largest country in Africa, Young-chae said Nigeria’s actions impact the continent and the globe, hence if Nigeria does not perform well, it will affect the African continent and the world.

The ambassador noted that Korea is interested and committed to seeing free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections in Nigeria in 2023 as well as a peaceful and orderly transition of power.

Young-chae, who had met the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Tuesday, and his PDP counterpart Atiku Abubakar a month before, said Korea is neutral with respect to the outcome of the upcoming elections.
