Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and his Kogi State counterpart Edward Onoja have urged Nigerians to vote enmass for candidates of the the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general elections especially the Presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima.
The Deputy governors gave the charge while speaking at the Police College, Ikeja after a Walk tagged “Eko Youth Walk for Tinubu, Shettima, Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat” they noted that by next February, Nigerians must come out in large numbers to vote Asiwaju Tinubu and Sen. Shettima.
Dr. Hamzat noted that the presidential candidate of APC who was a former Governor of Lagos State, laid solid foundation for the development of the state, upon which successive administrations built upon for a better and greater Lagos.
According to him, “In Lagos, Asiwaju laid the foundation for development of the state and all other preceding governors, including the incumbent, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have done a wonderful job in Lagos.
Speaking on the success track record of Asiwaju Tinubu, he said the APC presidential candidate antecedents made the state habitable for everyone in respective of the tribe, he said “Lagos is good for all of us and this is because some people worked hard, let us now support the man that manages the process by ensuring that he matches to Aso Rock as President”.
The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Mr. Onoja urged Lagosians to deliver at least four million votes for the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu, because the state has the highest number of registered voters in the country.
According to him, “Lagos has over twenty million people, over seven million people registered voters, the highest registered voters in the thirty-six states and the FCT, Lagos should give at least four million votes to Asiwaju”.
He reiterated that the road to a better Nigeria lies before all Nigerians, and therefore advised Nigerians to collectively renew our strength for a better country.
Also speaking at the event, the Lagos State Chairman of APC,Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi noted that the forthcoming election is very critical to all Nigerians, importantly to the youth of the country.
